Jake Paul sets Tommy Fury new fight deadline with alternative opponent revealed

Tommy Fury has been set an ultimatum by Jake Paul, with the Brit now having just two days to solve his Visa issues after being denied access to the US ahead of last Wednesday's planned press conference.

Tommy, the younger brother of world heavyweight champion Tyson, had agreed to fight Paul at Madison Square Garden on August 6 following his withdrawal from a fight previously planned for last December. Fury cited illness and injury as the reason for missing that particular fight, and revealed the new issues in a social media video last week.

Now, however, Paul seems to have had enough of the antics in the build-up to the fight and has given Fury until Wednesday, July 6 to resolve the issue or he would seek a new opponent for the fight. Revealing his thoughts on social media, Paul explained the ultimatum and expressed his intention to fight regardless of whether Fury is allowed into the US.

"Tommy is officially out by Wednesday morning if he doesn’t go to the Embassy or come out of hiding," he wrote on social media. "Three other opponents lined up. I’m built different.". A potential opponent for Paul in the fight could well be UFC star Nate Diaz, who has been tipped to enter the ring against Paul.

Diaz would need to be released from his UFC contract in order to fight, which is an option he is reportedly keen to explore, but with a month until a potential fight it could come too soon. Another potential opponent, Anderson Silva, has ruled himself out due to being on the undercard of Floyd Mayweather's September comeback.

All eyes will now be fixed on Fury, hoping that the Brit can resolve the issues preventing him from entering the US currently and can finally move forward with a fight which has now been a long time in the making.
