LOS ANGELES – Jake Paul is down to throw hands with Stockton’s finest.
The YouTuber turned professional boxer is interested in fighting MMA star Nate Diaz – who just fought out his UFC contract this past Saturday with a submission win over Tony Ferguson at UFC 279.
First, though, Paul is currently scheduled to fight former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva on Oct. 29. If successful, he’ll be keen to take on Diaz, who he’s said he wants to fight for more than two years.
“100 percent, I’ll slap the Stockton out of him,” Paul told reporters, including MMA Junkie, on Monday following the Paul-Siva press conference. “I’m focused on Oct. 29. I have a crazy tough opponent in front of me in Anderson Silva, so that’s my main focus.”
Paul is currently 5-0 in his professional boxing career. He’s coming off a knockout win over former UFC champion Tyron Woodley.
Diaz, meanwhile, just fought out his contract with the UFC this past Saturday, defeating Ferguson. Diaz said he will attend the Paul vs. Silva event, and also has a teammate, Chris Avila, competing on the card.
