Jake Paul's ex-boxing coach helps to train KSI's rival Joe Fournier for showdown

Jake Paul's former coach BJ Flores is helping Joe Fournier prepare for his upcoming fight against KSI.

'Boxing billionaire' Fournier, 40, serves as the latest opponent for YouTuber-turned-boxer KSI as the pair meet at Misfits Boxing 7 on May 13 at Wembley Arena. Fournier holds an unbeaten professional record of 9-0 with most of his wins coming on the regional circuit in the Dominican Republic. The 40-year-old hasn't stepped foot in the ring since being beaten by former two-weight world champion David Haye in September 2021.

Paul parted ways with his trainer Flores after suffering the first defeat of his professional career to Love Island star Tommy Fury in February. Fournier has now posted a video with Flores as he gears up for his fight against KSI and the trainer said of Fournier's skills: "I don't want to say too much but you looked good, a lot of good things today. Showing some good tools and good weapons, looking forward to the next few sessions. It'll be a good fight."

Flores is a former professional boxer who once challenged for the cruiserweight world title against Tony Bellew, but lost by third round stoppage. The 44-year-old was brought into Paul's camp originally as a sparring partner but the pair struck up a friendship and he eventually become his main trainer.

KSI reacted to the video by tweeting to Flores: "Got dropped by Jake and now backing that fake a** billionaire. You about to take 2 Ls this year." Paul is now working with former world champion Shane Mosley ahead of his upcoming fight against UFC legend Nate Diaz on August 5. The duo worked together for Paul's first professional fight against fellow YouTube star AnEsonGib.

Paul's fight against Diaz could be in jeopardy after the UFC legend recently turned himself into police after being charged with second-degree battery for his alleged involvement in a street brawl - which he said was self defence. KSI offered to replace Diaz if he pulls out, tweeting: Well, if that mean Jake won’t have an opponent in August…Then I’ll gladly come as the replacement after I KO Joe Fournier in May."

'The Problem Child' then agreed for KSI to serve as the back-up fighter, but insisted the fight must be on his terms. "Great. I accept you as the backup opponent. Fight is at 185. There are no rehydration clauses. Stay in shape and we will give you a call if needed. Thanks buddy for being so humble and committed."
