Jake Paul showed he is ready for battle with Anderson Silva by riding into their open workouts on a horse.
Paul made quite the entrance for his open workout on Wednesday evening, entertaining the Phoenix fans in attendance by strolling to the ring on top of a horse. The YouTuber-turned-boxer was also joined by his mascot 'The Problem Bot' as he skipped, hit pads and shadow-boxed in the ring. Paul said part of his decision to enter on horseback was to get himself into the mindset that he is going to war against Silva.
"I'm going to war. I feel like a warrior, like a gladiator," he said. "That's really what this is on Saturday as I am going to war. This is one of toughest fighters in the world, a combat sports legend. It's not going to be an easy fight, so I've got to come in on the horse like I'm prepared for battle. don't even know [what the horse is called] as I just met the thing a couple of minutes ago. I didn't even take it for dinner but I did say I would take it for dinner afterwards though, I am a gentleman."
Paul's trainer BJ Flores, a former cruiserweight world title challenger, admitted he wasn't very keen on the idea of Paul riding in on horseback due to the risk of a freak injury. "I wasn't crazy about it but Jake is always very unconventional and he does his own thing," Flores said. "He just likes doing crazy stuff. I did worry about that type of stuff in the beginning and now it's kind of just like look, I'm going to just sit back and chill. Only worrying about the things I can control as Jake is going to be Jake, I'm going to let him be himself.
Silva is undoubtedly the toughest challenge of Paul's professional career as the illusive UFC legend will be the first southpaw Paul has ever fought. 'The Spider' has embarrassed opponents by dancing in the ring and cage before knocking them out, but 'The Problem Child' insists all Silva will quickly forget his showmanship once he is getting "pieced up" in their fight.

"He's awkward, unorthodox, likes to have fun and dance in the ring," Paul said. "We had sparring partners that emulated his style as much as possible, but all of that goes out of the window when you are getting pieced up. He can do all of that fun stuff and the awkwardness, but there are parts of the body that don't move.
