Jake Paul refused to commit to rescheduling his fight with Tommy Fury after his rival laboured to victory over Daniel Bocianski.
The pair were set to fight at the Amalie Arena in Florida last December, but the YouTube star was forced to rematch Tyron Woodley instead when the Brit pulled out with two weeks to go until fight night. Fury had suffered a broken rib, and was forced out for 12 weeks with the gruesome injury.
But with no clear opponent emerging as yet for Paul's own ring return in August, it had been theorised that the pair could end up fighting this summer. First, Fury had to get past his Polish opponent tonight, which he did by way of a lop-sided points over six rounds to move to 8-0 as a professional.
And Paul was quick to comment after watching his rival's fight, telling journalist Ariel Helwani: “Congrats on beating a 10-1 fighter. But that stadium was empty. When I fight the stadium is full. When Tommy fights no one gives a f***. And that’s in his home country. Let’s see how Anderson Silva’s event does.”
Fury has insisted that he is unfazed by Paul, despite having previously angled for the fight to be rescheduled. He said ahead of the bout that he wouldn't even need to train to face the YouTuber, who is 5-0 with four knockouts.
But after defeating Bocianski by decision at Wembley, Fury wasted no time in calling out the YouTuber. "I felt very good," Fury said after his win. "It was my first fight in a year, he's a very tough guy and I almost got a stoppage numerous times.
"But I just have one thing to say, Jake Paul - this should have been done a long time ago in December and if you want it I'm here and I'm ready for you. I'll cut you and chop you to bits just like I did there, get the contract signed you bum, let's get it done once and for all.
"That lad in there would have killed Jake Paul, that lad is a true professional. He was cut to bits, still in there giving me everything that he had, he'd slap Jake Paul and it'd be over. Jake Paul, I'm going to end your career, you're a bum and you're no good. Let's get this fight done and get this settled."

Asked about Fury taking a step-up in competition, Paul told Mirror Fighting earlier this month: "It's great and let's see how he fares, this will be a cool test for him and hopefully it's not a snooze-fest like all of his fights.
"Hopefully he can get a big moment, a big KO and get some momentum going. Right now we're just not interested in that fight because he doesn't really have anything going, people only know of his name because of me."
The YouTuber promised that he was backing Fury to get a win tonight, adding: "I'm rooting for him. Best of luck to him, hopefully he can get a big KO and do something that would make more excitement for a fight between us. He sucks at promoting, his brother did all the promotion, his dad did all the promotion for the last fight so he's got to do something to get back on my radar."
