Jake Paul responds to Tommy Fury's opponent on brother Tyson's undercard

Jake Paul has insisted he hopes Tommy Fury can land a massive KO on opponent Daniel Bocianski when he returns to the ring next weekend.

Fury will face the 10-1 Polish fighter in his first fight since pulling out of a planned meeting with Paul in Florida last December. The Brit was forced out of the event on two weeks' notice after suffering a broken rib in training, and the YouTuber-turned-boxer was instead forced to rematch ex-UFC champion Tyron Woodley.

And after Paul brutally knocked out Woodley in the sixth round of their contest, Fury has pushed for him to reschedule their bout for this year. But the social media star, who is 5-0 as a professional boxer, seems uninterested as yet - unless his 7-0 rival can land a major victory at Wembley Stadium on his brother Tyson's world heavyweight title undercard.

"It's great," Paul said of Fury taking a step-up to face an opponent with a winning record for just the second time. "And let's see how he fares, this will be a cool test for him and hopefully it's not a snooze-fest like all of his fights.

"Hopefully he can get a big moment, a big KO and get some momentum going. Right now we're just not interested in that fight because he doesn't really have anything going, people only know of his name because of me."

Paul still clearly harbours an interest in the fight, despite on multiple occasions vowing to not give the Love Island star another major pay-per-view opportunity. He is currently preparing for a ring return of his own in August, and has backed Fury to get the job done and earn a big money fight once again.

"I'm rooting for him," Paul continued. "Best of luck to him, hopefully he can get a big KO and do something that would make more excitement for a fight between us. He sucks at promoting, his brother did all the promotion, his dad did all the promotion for the last fight so he's got to do something to get back on my radar."

Paul has teased the prospect of moving into MMA within the near future, but still has ambitions in the boxing world, and is planning to be out again this August. No opponent has been named as yet, but talks are underway for a big name to help him return to the major PPV successes he enjoyed in the early part of 2021.

"We don't have a date in August," he explained. "We're talking to a lot of different people, a lot of big names. We need someone with that star power, a big name who can bring in a ton of pay-per-view buys to the table, all of my opponents I've carried the promotion and I'm looking for that big name. We need someone who can be a heavy hitter in the space."
