Jake Paul explains why he still has his Christmas tree up in February

Jake Paul has explained he keeps his Christmas Tree up until February to remind himself that every day is a gift.

The YouTube star had a very successful 2021, defeating Tyron Woodley twice after recording a stoppage win over Ben Askren earlier in the year.

He has been very active in recent days dropping a 'diss track' on UFC president Dana White over fighters pay, as he continues to take a break from boxing.

In a recent interview on the MMA Hour, Paul was questioned about why he still had Christmas tree up - and he said it made him feel in the "holiday spirit".

"Yeah bro every day is a gift," Paul said. "So I keep my Christmas tree up every day, I love it though it's lit.

"I will probably take it down around Valentines day but when I was growing up we used to keep it for a while. Whenever I see it it makes me feel in the holiday spirit and keeps me in a good mood so I keep it up."

Paul has recently released a 'diss track' which criticised UFC president White and escalated their row over fighters' pay along with calling out some of his leading fighters including Conor McGregor and Jorge Masvidal.

He is yet to receive a response but is now unlikely to provoke a reaction with White vowing to end his row with the YouTube fighter.

The 25-year-old has also had a huge hand in the confirmation of the historic women's fight between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano.

Paul will co-promote the event alongside Taylor's promoter Eddie Hearn and will represent the Serrano going into the clash in New York at the iconic Madison Square Garden.

His own future is currently up in the air as he continues to hint at a future in the MMA cage despite having huge success in the iron square.

Retired star Khabib Nurmagomedov has claimed that he has offered Paul a contract to compete in his new promotion Eagles FC.

However Paul denied receiving an offer but has admitted he would be willing to fight the Russian himself if one is made.

However it would command a fee of between $25 and $35million to entice Paul into the cage with Nurmagomedov also unlikely to compete in the cage again.
