Jake Paul explains why he rates Tyson Fury as best boxer in the world

Jake Paul believes Tyson Fury has been the most "dominant" heavyweight in a long time and expects him to retire on top.

The YouTube star has become a high-profile figure in boxing and will make his next outing in the ring when he takes on UFC legend Anderson Silva on October 29 at the Gila River Arena in Phoenix. It will be Paul's six professional fight and he is continuing to try and make his name in the sport, as he plans to one day become a future world champion.

During his time in the sport, Paul has made a number of rivalries including with Fury's brother Tommy, which has seen Paul exchange words with the WBC heavyweight champion himself. However Paul has named Fury at the top of his pound-for-pound list ahead of rival Oleksandr Usyk.

"First and foremost Tyson Fury has been the most dominant heavyweight in the division for so long," Paul explained during a statement on Twitter that revealed the reasons for naming his pound-for-pound top ten. "He beats every heavyweight by TKO/KO including Usyk and there hasn't been a heavyweight in the sport that hasn't fallen off eventually but Tyson Fury is still on top and I expect him to retire on top."

Paul named Ukrainian heavyweight Usyk in fourth position behind Terence Crawford and Errol Spence in joint second, and Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol in third. He has hailed Usyk's versatility despite previously suggesting Fury will become the man the dethrone the current unified champion.

"However what Usyk has done from cruiserweight to heavyweight has been impressive and his dominance, versatility and boxing ability is second to none. Terrence and Errol is obvious and it all just needs to be settled. Artur Beterbiev is the only current champion who has all KOs and it is not talked about enough. Bivol being in the same weight class also means they need to settle who is better."

Paul went on to name Amanda Serrano and Katie Taylor in joint fifth position despite Taylor defeating his Puerto Rican charge by decision. The pair came ahead of Shakur Stevenson, Devin Haney, and Jermell Charlo before the list was rounded off by David Benavidez and Naoya Inoue.

The 25-year-old has previously exchanged verbal barbs with Fury including when the pair agreed to a $1 million bet on the content creators' potential fight with Fury's sibling Tommy. However the fight has collapsed on two separate occasions and the fight is still yet to take place despite being on the table for Madison Square Garden back in July. Fury was previously full of praise for Paul's influence in boxing, but his opinion changed when the pair clashed during a virtual press conference last year.
