Jake Paul explains to "delusional" Tommy Fury how he can earn second chance

Jake Paul wants Tommy Fury to earn himself another shot at a pay-per-view fight by beating former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley.

Fury and Paul were set to square off in Florida last December but the fight was cancelled when the Love Island star broke a rib in training.

Instead, the YouTuber-turned-boxer hastily organised a rematch of his August bout with Woodley which he had won by split decision.

Paul was rocked in that first bout but was given the nod by the judges and left no doubt when he brutally stopped the ex-UFC star in the sixth round of their second meeting.

But the pair have been friendly and respectful after the fact, with Paul saying Fury should test himself against Woodley if he wants another chance to fight him later this year.

Fury has floated a potential rescheduling date for March, but with Paul currently focused on promoting the super-fight between Amanda Serrano and Katie Taylor in conjunction with Eddie Hearn, he is eyeing a date closer to the end of summer.

"He’s delusional and he sort of missed his chance and his opportunity," Paul said during an appearance on the MMA Hour when a fight next month March was mentioned.

"I sort of want him to fight Tyron Woodley and see what happens there. Because I think Tyron would knock Tommy out, so, I almost want to have them fight.

"Tommy, people only know him because of me, and so I want him to go get some of your own fans, or clout, or go do some other thing.

"Then, maybe we could run it back after that.”

Fury has a following of millions across social media from his time on the ITV reality show, where he met model girlfriend Molly Mae Hague.

He has also amassed a record of 7-0 since turning professional in 2018, but has been criticised for the level of opposition that he has faced thus far.

Most recently, Fury comfortably defeated Anthony Taylor, a sparring partner of Paul's who is better known for fighting in MMA, and has otherwise beaten journeymen around the UK.

And he has hit back at Paul's comments, accusing the YouTuber of being afraid to fight him in a statement released through his promoter Frank Warren.

"I really don't want to keep talking about this but I just can't stay silent after comments Jake Paul has made in a recent interview," said Fury, whose record stands at 7-0 to Paul's 5-0.

"I'm absolutely sick of Jake Paul saying that I was 'scared' to fight. I had a broken rib and a bacterial chest infection which left me completely medically unfit to box - as stated by multiple medical professionals.

"I'm now fit and healthy and have very clearly stated that I am ready to fight on a rescheduled date... but where is he?

"Me having to pull out the fight was the best thing that ever happened to him and he well knows my injury was legitimate.

"This man never wanted to fight me, if he did we'd have a rescheduled date for you all and the fight would be back on which is exactly what I want... the easiest fight of my career."
