Jake Paul brands Dana White "scared" after 'diss track' met with silence

Jake Paul has said that Dana White is "scared" after watching his viral 'diss track' on the UFC president.

The MMA boss has had an ongoing feud with Paul over the past year, stemming from White claiming that he would bet $1million on the YouTube being beaten by Ben Askren in April.

White has accused Paul of using steroids during his fights, and has asked the YouTuber to agree to be randomly drug tested in exchange for him testing for cocaine.

But in a recent podcast appearance he appeared to have cooled on the social media star, and declared that the feud was over, with Paul releasing his song a week later.

And Paul has said that he feels White doesn't want to reply amid a generally quiet build-up to this weekend's UFC 271 pay-per-view in Texas.

"I don't know," Paul told Mirror Fighting when asked about White's silence. "I guess he's scared.

"I didn't even know there was a fight this weekend, I guess there hasn't been any really good promotion about it.

"I have not heard anything to be honest, but I'm sure he can't be that happy."

Paul was in London for the second press conference ahead of Katie Taylor vs Amanda Serrano; the undisputed lightweight title fight which he is co-promoting with Eddie Hearn.

And Hearn was a bit more diplomatic when asked about the song, saying he wasn't sure if the song had rattled MMA kingpin White.

"I don't know," Hearn told Mirror Fighting. "He's got a lot going on I'm sure.

"I'm sure their machine will start later this week.

"I wouldn't like to get on the wrong side of the social media side of Jake Paul - he's relentless."

Paul's song was written as something of a troll effort, but is part of a wider discussion around fighter pay which he has been championing since becoming one of the world's most famous boxers.

He was joined in the video by legendary former UFC champion Cris Cyborg, who currently holds the belt at featherweight in Bellator.

Paul also roped in ex-UFC star and top coach Antonio McKee to appear in the short film, where he can be seen beating up an actor portraying the promotional boss.

The YouTuber is currently taking an extended break from the ring after winning four fights in 13 months, culminating in a 'KO of the year' win over former UFC champion Tyron Woodley in December.

He is focused solely on promoting Serrano in her fight with Taylor, which takes place at Madison Square Garden on April 30, and is then planning to return to the ring by August or September.

No opponent is jumping out as the obvious candidate for his sixth professional fight, with Tommy Fury, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr and Nate Diaz all possibilities.

But with Diaz locked in a UFC contract, Chavez Jr's infamous mental issues and a lack of trust in Tommy Fury after he pulled out of their planned December meeting, there are many hoops to jump through.
