Jake Paul bets have been slowly rolling in despite many fans predicting Mike Tyson to prevail on Friday. Such is the supreme confidence in his own ability that Paul made a series of outlandish bets of his own in a wild press conference on Wednesday.
Jake Paul Bets Entire £31m Purse on Himself
As far as Jake Paul boxing press conferences go, Wednesday’s affair was decidedly tame.
His opponent Mike Tyson appeared somewhat disinterested in the theatrics, despite Paul’s best efforts to stir up controversy.
The self-professed “Problem Child” even went as far as putting his money where his mouth is, and fired off a series of wagers with fellow boxers and undercard fighters who were doubting him ahead of Friday’s fight.
After being asked who they thought would win the fight, several undercard fighters were offered $1m bets by an agitated Paul. Neeraj Goyat wagered his property in his home nation of India, Melinda Watpool bet a ring, and Dana Coolwell offered $20.
Katie Taylor, who will face the Jake Paul-endorsed Amanda Serrano in the night’s co-main event, jokingly took the wagering frenzy to a new level, asking Paul to bet his entire $40m (£31m) purse.
Approaching Taylor’s table Paul said: “How much do you want to bet?”
Slightly taken aback by the request, Taylor then proceeded to pull out a tongue-in-cheek line: “Do you want to bet your purse?”

Paul duly obliged and shook hands with the undisputed lightweight champion – whether he keeps to his word will make for interesting post-match viewing.
‘Iron Mike’ was resolute in his stance over the fight, saying he “will not lose” after firing back at a reporter who dared to float the idea of Jake Paul winning the bout.
Paul vs Tyson will stream live on Netflix, as one of 2024’s most hotly-anticipated boxing events takes place at the home of NFL’s Dallas Cowboys, where up to 80,000 fans are expected to be in attendance.
