Jake Humphrey has been axed as the host of BT Sport's Premier League football coverage as part of a huge shake-up by the broadcaster ahead of new season.
Lynsey Hipgrave, who has hosted the channel's Europa League coverage in recent seasons, will replace Humphrey in the hot seat and present her first match this weekend when Fulham take on Liverpool at Craven Cottage.
Humphrey has been the face of BT Sport's Saturday show alongside former footballers Rio Ferdinand, Peter Crouch and Joe Cole in recent seasons. The 43-year-old broadcaster from Peterborough will continue to front the channel's Champions League coverage.
Hipgrave announced the news on Twitter. In a post to her 70,000 followers, she wrote: "After a weekend of dreams coming true for women in football the dreams of a football-mad Geordie lass have also come true…
"I couldn't be any prouder to be leading @btsport's Premier League coverage this season. We KO with Fulham v Liverpool on Saturday at 11.30am BT Sport 1."
Humphrey replied: "You're going to be amazing Lynsey. So delighted for you. Please just let me back for the odd game."
Hipgrave came through the ranks at BBC Radio 5 Live before getting her big break in sports TV with Al Jazeera. The 42-year-old started presenting on BT Sport in 2013 but is also featured on Eurosport, talkSPORT, Discovery+ and Mola Sport.
As well as Liverpool's clash with Fulham, Hipgrave will take the lead when Southampton face Manchester United later on this month and when the Reds play Newcastle on the final day of August.
