JAKE HASTIE insists he has a point to prove after his exit from Rangers three years after joining the club.
The winger penned a four-year contract at Ibrox under Steven Gerrard after an impressive six month spell in the Motherwell first-team.
However, Hastie would make just two competitive appearances for Rangers after he swapped Lanarkshire for Glasgow with four loan moves during his time at the club.
Speaking to the Scotsman about his time at Rangers, he explained: "I enjoyed it at Rangers. There was a good group of boys and everything was good in there, but I’m getting to an age now where I just need to be playing.
"That was the main thing for me – playing and enjoying myself.
"It was a big squad at Rangers, wasn’t it? It was always going to be hard but I enjoyed it there.”
Now, Hastie has moved to Hartlepool United under former Cove Rangers boss Paul Hartley and is hoping to remind fans of his quality.
The winger, still just 24, added: “I’ve definitely got a point to prove, especially because the last two seasons I’ve not been at my best.
“I just feel like I need a full season under my belt and I can get myself back to that level.
"I want to prove to people how good I am."
