Jake Doyle-Hayes Hibs transfer news as club 'accept' bid from Forest Green Rovers

Jake Doyle-Hayes could be set to leave Hibs after accepting a bid from Forest Green Rovers, according to a report.

The 23-year-old is said to have opened talks with the ambitious English League One side and has asked for time to consider the transfer as he weighs up the move south of the border say the Scottish Daily Express. The midfielder is under contract in the capital until 2025 but boss Lee Johnson is looking to cut his squad numbers down.

The E aster Road gaffer is unable to bring in fresh faces before letting numbers leave with another busy month expected in Leith. Forest Green Rovers have already had a bid accepted by Premiership rivals St Mirren for Ethan Erhahon - who is also considering his next move.

Former Hibs favourite and Aberdeen star Dylan McGeouch recently penned a deal with the club while Kyle McAllister and Regan Hendry are two other key players at the club who will be familiar names with Scottish football fans.

Speaking last week about his January plans, he said: "Sometimes people write you off but we are still growing. We can improve again in January and we are trying to get outs and ins and that is important.”

The Hibees returned to winning ways last time out with a thumping 4-0 win over Livingston to move up into seventh spot in the league standings.

They trail Aberdeen in third spot by just two points as the season gets to its midway point. Next up is Ange Postecoglou and his Celtic side before an Edinburgh derby showdown with Hearts.
