LAS VEGAS – Jairzinho Rozenstruik is looking to rebound in emphatic fashion at UFC 282.
Rozenstruik (12-4 MMA, 6-4 UFC) meets Chris Daukaus (12-5 MMA, 4-2 UFC) in Saturday’s event at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on ESPN2 and early prelims on ESPN+.
It’s been a frustrating year for the heavyweight contender, who only fought once in 2022 and saw three fights scrapped.
“It was difficult, but it is what it is,” Rozenstruik told MMA Junkie and other reporters at a pre-fight news conference. “Life goes on and so does my career. I’m here again so I’m happy that it’s fight week. Saturday, I definitely want to put down a crazy performance.”
Rozenstruik, who started off his UFC career with four knockouts – including a comeback finish of Alistair Overeem, has since lost four of his past six and two in a row.
But the 34-year-old isn’t feeling any added pressure to snap his losing skid.
“I always think like that, I want to win and give everything that I have,” Rozenstruik said. “Especially in my camp then fight night, you want to do everything you especially trained for so it’s always important.”
