ALWAR: The Pahadi police of Bharatpur district on Monday unearthed a racket involved in stealing expensive mobile phones worth Rs 1.30 crore. Police arrested three persons and recovered over 400 phones that were stolen from a consignment and concealed in a truck carrying tyres.
According to police, the thieves had robbed 470 iPhones that were to be delivered from Gurugram to Hyderabad. "The consignment left on June 8 evening. It appears that the thieves followed the container truck and, in connivance with the transport company employees, stole eight cartons of mobile phones after breaking the digital lock during the early hours on June 9. We got specific information about a truck in which the thieves had concealed the stolen goods under the tyres. Our team intercepted the truck and recovered 406 out of the 470 mobile phones," said a senior police officer from Bharatpur on Monday.
