Jaguars RB James Robinson: ‘We beat ourselves’ in all 3 losses

The Jacksonville Jaguars are, according to statistics, a much better football team than their 2-3 record reflects. According to running back James Robinson, no team has really beaten the Jaguars so far this season.

“We’re hurting ourselves, I mean, I feel like the games that we did lose, we beat ourselves,” Robinson told Mia O’Brien of 1010XL on Thursday. “We don’t think anyone came out and straight beat us. That’s the biggest thing for us: just not beat ourselves and do our job the right way.”

The Jaguars led 22-14 in the fourth quarter of a Week 1 game against the Washington Commanders before allowing two touchdowns in the last 10 minutes to lose, 28-22. In their last two losses, the Jaguars turned the ball over seven times.

While there’s reason for the team to lament those missed opportunities, Robinson said the focus is squarely on the season ahead.

“We still have everything ahead of us that we want to get done,” Robinson said. “That’s a tough loss last Sunday, but we’ve still got the division ahead of us — we’ve got a lot more divisional games to play — so we’ve really just got to move forward and we can’t talk about the losses too much, because we can’t do anything about them now.”

Robinson, 24, started his season with 230 rushing yards and four total touchdowns through his first three games, but was given only 18 carries in the next two weeks.
