Jaguars Dominate Falcons In Preseason Finale

Trevor Lawrence showcased his skills in the Jacksonville Jaguars' dominant 31-0 victory over the Atlanta Falcons in the preseason finale. Lawrence led two impressive touchdown drives, completing 8 of 10 passes for 91 yards, including two scoring passes to tight end Evan Engram.

The Falcons opted to rest their starters, with rookie quarterback Michael Penix Jr. seeing limited action. Despite the absence of key players, Falcons' coach Raheem Morris emphasized the value of joint practices over preseason games to evaluate his team.

Meanwhile, Falcons' star quarterback Kirk Cousins sat out the entire preseason as he recovered from an Achilles injury. The team is hopeful that Cousins will be ready for the regular season opener.

On the other hand, the Jaguars decided to play most of their starters in the preseason finale, outgaining the Falcons 412-157 in total yards. Coach Doug Pederson emphasized the importance of his players feeling confident heading into the regular season.

Lawrence orchestrated two impressive touchdown drives, connecting with Engram for two scores. Backup quarterback Mac Jones also contributed with a touchdown pass to Elijah Cooks.

Despite the Jaguars' dominance, a penalty nullified a touchdown pass by Jones, leading to a field goal instead. The Falcons struggled offensively, managing just 25 points in the preseason.

Looking ahead, the Jaguars will open their regular season against the Miami Dolphins, while the Falcons will debut Kirk Cousins against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
