The Jacksonville Jaguars are bringing back veteran guard Blake Hance who spent the 2019 season on the team’s practice squad.
Hance, 26, most recently spent the 2021 season with the Cleveland Browns and the first couple months of the 2022 season with the San Francisco 49ers after they scooped him up off waivers at the end of August. Hance was waived by the 49ers on Saturday when the team promoted wide receiver Willie Snead IV to the active roster.
The former Northwestern offensive line began his career with the Buffalo Bills as an undrafted free agent after the 2019 NFL Draft, but spent less than two weeks with the team. After a stint with Washington, Hance finally stuck with the Jaguars.
Hance has appeared in 24 career games and made seven starts while with the Browns. This season, he played 12 offensive snaps with the 49ers and took 29 snaps on special teams.
The Jaguars had 52 players on their active roster after trading running back James Robinson and sending Shaquill Griffin last week and adding cornerback Tevaughn Campbell.
