Jaguars back in Jacksonville after ‘mechanical issue’ delays flight

The Jaguars’ flight to Jacksonville from Buffalo was delayed following their Monday Night Football loss to the Bills due to a “mechanical issue” with the team’s plane, per a team spokesperson.

The game ended at 10:34 p.m. ET Monday. The Jaguars landed in Jacksonville around 6 a.m. Tuesday.

Jacksonville was blown out by undefeated Buffalo, 47-10, extending its losing skid to three games to begin the season and four games dating back to the 2023 campaign.

The Jaguars are 1-8 since Week 13 of last year.

They pulled starting quarterback Trevor Lawrence from the contest after he was sacked for a 10-yard loss on fourth down in the fourth quarter, one of four sacks he took against Buffalo and 11 he has endured through three games this season.

Lawrence finished 21-of-38 passing for 178 yards with one touchdown and an interception. Backup Mac Jones went five-of-eight for 22 yards and committed a sack-fumble, which was recovered by Bills defensive end Casey Toohill.

Buffalo’s high-powered offense went 6-of-11 on third down and two-of-two on fourth down against Jacksonville’s defense, with quarterback Josh Allen completing 23-of-30 passes for 263 yards and four touchdowns on the night. He led the Bills with 44 rushing yards.

Allen exited the game early after his dominant showing and was replaced by Mitch Trubisky, who completed one pass for three yards and handed the ball off six times as Buffalo ran out the clock.
