The brunt of the offseason is in the books and training camp is underway. Join us for a player-by-player review of the Jaguars roster ahead of the 2023 season.
The Jacksonville Jaguars kept quiet during free agency, opting instead to bring back most of their players. Much of the light tinkering that the team did do came on the defensive line.
One of the new additions was Henry Mondeaux, a veteran defensive tackle who previously had stints with the New Orleans Saints, Kansas City Chiefs, Pittsburgh Steelers, and New York Giants.
While the Jaguars list Mondeaux at just 6’5, 280 pounds, he’s also listed as a nose tackle competing to backup the 335-pound DaVon Hamilton. To earn the role, he’ll likely need to hold off seventh-round draft pick Raymond Vohasek.
Contract (2023): $1,010,000 base salary, $1,010,000 cap hit.
Acquired: The Jaguars signed Mondeaux as a free agent on March 27, 2023.

It’s kind of my, ‘why’ — to show kids who are maybe diagnosed with the same thing or something like it that you can still go after your dreams and all that stuff. So I always try to keep that in the back of my mind.” – Mondeaux on having Type 1 diabetes
