Jaguar Land Rover suspends sales to Russia as Ukraine crisis continues

Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has suspended the delivery of its cars to Russia as the Ukraine crisis continues.

Russia has been hit with sanctions following the invasion of Ukraine, which has heavily restricted the ability of companies to sell goods there.

The manufacturers sold 6,900 vehicles to Russia last year, but have announced it has paused sales and continue to monitor the situation.

A spokesperson said: "Jaguar Land Rover's first priority is the wellbeing of our entire workforce and their families, as well as those within our extended network.

"The current global context also presents us with trading challenges so we are pausing the delivery of vehicles into the Russian market and continually monitoring the situation on behalf of our global customer base."

Jaguar Land Rover is the UK's biggest car manufacturer and has a facility based in Halewood.

The company's headquarters is based in Coventry and they do not have any sites in Russia or Ukraine.

Jaguar Land Rover's announcement comes after Swedish based firm Volvo also confirmed it would be suspending the delivery of cars to Russia until further notice.
