There’s an archetype among car-blog readers that—after nearly a decade in this business—has consistently found its way into my inbox, into the comments on my stories, and into every forum thread: The bench racer.
They’ll point to cars like the Lucid Gravity or or Hyundai Ioniq 6 and note that, based on the specs, cars like this make “lesser” vehicles irrelevant with their blazing-fast charge speeds and superior range. Then they’ll sit in shock as “inferior” products absolutely dunk on their spec sheet champions.
