Jagan responsible for indictment of IAS officers: Varla Ramaiah

TDP Polit Bureau member Varla Ramaiah on Saturday held Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy responsible for indictment and punishment given by the court to eight IAS officers in the State, and demanded his resignation on moral grounds.

Addressing the media, Mr. Ramaiah said that the Chief Minister was not in a position to take action against his “corrupt and erring Cabinet colleagues” as his own position was “very weak.”

The court awarding punishment to eight civil servants was the first of its kind witnessed in Andhra Pradesh, he said.

If the Chief Minister had any values, he should sack several Ministers for their unethical deeds.

Mr. Ramaiah accused the Chief Minister of ushering in a “rule of lies, corruption and deception” in the State. He said the government was finding easy scapegoats in the civil servants, who merely appended their signatures in the government orders while the Chief Minister was responsible for all the decisions at the highest level.

Citing the case of TDP founder N.T. Rama Rao, who had removed 33 Ministers with one stroke of his pen, Mr. Ramaiah said Mr. Jagan did not have the courage to do that considering his own “weak background.”
