Jade Goody's son Bobby Brazier opens up about his late mother following her tragic death

EastEnders' Bobby Brazier was only five when his mum Jade Goody died and says he sadly can't remember much about her.

The Big Brother star lost her battle with cervical cancer in 2009 when she was just 27.

Jade was a household name in Britain at the time, having shot to fame on the reality show in 2002 before making a return five years later- which hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons.

However, Bobby says he was too young to have any lasting memories of his mum as he opened up about the late star.

Recalling what he remembered of Jade, he said: "Not a whole lot. Maybe memories of memories. I'm always being told about her and what she meant to people. I guess I know my mum through other people's memories of my mum."

Jade had a testy relationship with fame after being accused of racism when she took part in Celebrity Big Brother alongside Indian actress Shilpa Shetty.

Jade, Dannielle Lloyd and S Club's Jo O'Meara were all accused of bullying the Bollywood star in news which went global.

Speaking about his mum's life in the limelight, Bobby said: "I've never really thought about her experience of fame. I think to assume that anybody's experience of fame is glamorous, or that it will make you whole or happy, is silly.

"It might make some things better, but because of that it'll make other things worse," he told The Times.

Despite having lived longer without Jade than with her, the actor also said he believed his mum was still around, musing: "Maybe as a guide, maybe as an angel, maybe as a teacher, maybe as a protector".

Bobby, who lives with his father Jeff Brazier, 43 and younger brother Freddie, 18, previously told The Sun how he believes Jade 'would love' him 'trying my best to make something of my life' after carving out a career as a model.

He said: "Like every boy, you want to think your mum would be proud of you."

Having graced the catwalks for fashion houses including Dolce and Gabbana, Bobby has now rocked up in Albert Square, where he plays Freddie Slater.

Ahead of his debut on the soap, proud dad Jeff said on Instagram : "So proud. A wonderful moment for the whole family and anyone that has had this kid's back through it all. Thank you for supporting my children."
