Jackson State’s do-it-all football star Travis Hunter kept his team’s hopes alive during the Celebration Bowl on Saturday.
Needing a touchdown to force overtime against North Carolina Central, Jackson State quarterback Shedeur Sanders found Hunter in the end zone for a bomb in the game’s final seconds. Hunter came down with the breathtaking touchdown to set up the tying kick.
It’s just not common to see a player like Hunter make a catch like this. He primarily plays cornerback for Jackson State, but he’s filtered into the passing game some just because he’s so talented.
The play kept Jackson State in the game and gave Hunter plenty of reason to feel confident in his ability to turn heads on both sides of the ball.

Now that’s how you score an overtime-forcing touchdown right before the final horn. While Jackson State lost the contest 41-34, Hunter’s outstanding catch will still become the stuff of legend.
Hunter clearly has a bright future ahead of him in football, with him likely following head coach Deion Sanders to Colorado.
For now, Jackson State fans will be able to look back fondly at someone who will more than likely go down as one of the best players in the program’s history.
