It was the latest kidnapping in France of people working in the cryptocurrency business -

French police stormed a house suspected of holding a kidnapped cryptocurrency entrepreneur's father, fearing the hostage's life was in imminent danger.

The raid, ordered by Paris judicial police director Fabrice Gardon, followed concerns that the kidnappers might inflict further harm, including severing another of the hostage's fingers.
