Jack Wilshere reveals he will reach out to former Arsenal teammate Nicklas Bendtner after Danish move

Jack Wilshere will reach out to former Arsenal teammate Nicklas Bendtner following his move to Danish club AGF.

The 30-year-old signed a short-term deal in Denmark earlier this week after keeping up his fitness back at Arsenal following his exit from Bournemouth at the end of last season.

While Wilshere’s time in the Premier League did look to have naturally passed him by, it would have been somewhat of a shock to many to see him move to the Danish league at this stage of his career.

Still, he has talked about the excitement a new challenge offers him and did hint he would speak to Bendtner about life in Denmark.

The two played together at Arsenal as legendary manager Arsene Wenger attempted to bring a new wave of young players through at the start of the 2010s up until the Danish striker left the club in 2014.

Speaking at his unveiling for his new club, Wilshere claimed he would be seeking Bendtner out.

“No I didn’t reach out to Nicklas,” he said when asked about any contact.

“I spoke to a few people who I know who have worked in the Danish league. They were all very positive, they said it would suit my style of play.

“I will reach out to Nicklas to see how he is and see his thoughts about this.”
