Jack Whitehall left This Morning viewers cringing after mentioning Phillip Schofield while appearing on the ITV daytime show.
The disgraced TV presenter fronted This Morning for more than two decades, but stepped down in May after admitting to having an "unwise, but not illegal" affair with a younger male colleague.
Comedian Whitehall, 35, dropped the 'P bomb' while chatting to presenters Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary on Monday's show.
After being invited to tuck into some shepherds pie, the Fresh Meat star explained that he has never been invited to try food on the show before.
He said: "I've never been fed before. I got some caffeinated moisturiser from Holly and Phil once. And Vanessa Feltz sat on me on that sofa."
His delight at the culinary offering soon turned to trepidation however after Hammond warned that it was spicy.
Not a fan of spice, he joked: "I had hot chicken in Nando's once and my a**e was like the flag of Japan".
His remark didn't go unnoticed by viewers, who took to social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their collective gasps.
"Oop let's quickly brush past that Phil moment shall we team..." wrote one person.
"Oh Jack... that was a bit awkward mentioning Phil!" agreed another.
While a third penned: "A classic Phil slip-up, he's only been gone a couple of months but we'll let Jack catch up!"
Elsewhere in the interview, Whitehall opened up about recently becoming a father for the first time with fiancée Roxy Horner and admitted he's still "very much in the trenches".
He said: "I still feel like I am very much in the trenches, we are six-weeks in and my baby daughter is amazing and it's all so full on'
"People do say there is a honeymoon period and the first week was so amazing, and blissful then by the second week I was googling boarding schools, it happened that quickly."
