Jack Sanders has been recalled by Kilmarnock.
The defender, 23, spent the first half of the season on loan at Cove Rangers.
He played in 12 Championship matches for the North East club.
Fans were surprised to see him depart Rugby Park during the summer, after showing impressive signs in his development during the 2021/22 campaign.
However, the Ayrshire side saw a loan move back to Scotland's second tier as the right step for the centre-back to gain more first team experience.
Supporters will no doubt be pleased to see him make a return to battle for his place in Derek McInnes' side.
A club statement reads: "Kilmarnock Football Club can confirm that Jack Sanders has been recalled from his loan at Cove Rangers and he will now return to fight for his place in Derek McInnes’ squad.
"The 23-year-old enjoyed an impressive spell up North, having played every minute of Cove’s 12 league matches since joining in September 2022.
"Jack will now bolster Kilmarnock’s defensive options ahead of a busy start to the 2023 campaign."
It comes less than 24-hours after Jim McIntyre was sacked by Cove.
The former Dunfermline, Dundee and Ross County boss was given the top job at the Aberdeenshire-based club in June.
He took over the reins from Paul Hartley, who left for Hartlepool, for their debut season in the Championship.
However, after a dismal run of just one win in five games, including yesterday's 6-1 thumping at the hands of Inverness, he was relieved of his duties.
Kilmarnock face a double-header against Celtic over the coming weeks.
They travel to Parkhead on Saturday before making their first trip to Hampden in over a decade seven days later for their semi-final clash in the League Cup.
