Jack Ross is favourite to make a quickfire return to management as Stephen Glass’ successor at Aberdeen.
The former Hibs boss was axed at Easter Road in November and denied the chance to lead the Edinburgh side out in the Premier Sports Cup final.
Ross also led the Leith side to the Scottish Cup final the previous season but Ron Gordon pulled the trigger due to their struggling league form.
The 45-year-old leads the betting with McBookie.com to take over at Pittodrie, closely followed by St Mirren boss Jim Goodwin.
While the Dons crashed out of the Scottish Cup to Motherwell on Saturday, Goodwin led the Buddies into the last eight and his stock is on the rise.
Scott Brown is also among the frontrunners after moving to Aberdeen to assist his former Hibs team-mate Stephen Glass.
Former Dons midfielder Barry Robson is part of the interim coaching team along with legend Neil Simpson.
Robson is 5/1 along with Brown for the permanent position with the 43-year-old currently in charge of the Under-18s.
Pittodrie legend and former Celtic and Scotland boss Gordon Strachan is another name in the frame along with last season’s double cup winner Callum Davidson and veteran Dick Campbell who has performed miracles with Arbroath in the Championship this season.
