  • Alan Ritchson claimed that plans to adapt his favourite Jack Reacher novel, Die Trying , for the Prime Video series were scrapped following Donald Trump 's victory in the 2024 US presidential election.
  • The 1998 novel Die Trying involves protagonist Jack Reacher taking on a radical white supremacist militia camp that abducts a politician's daughter to force a secession from the United States.
  • Replying to a fan on social media, Ritchson revealed the adaptation had initially been approved before the election outcome, though Prime Video has not issued an official comment regarding his claims.
  • Ritchson has previously been vocal in his criticism of Donald Trump, which prompted fierce backlash from supporters and a White House spokesperson calling the actor a talentless hack.
  • Jack Reacher author Lee Child also disclosed that he previously relocated back to the UK from the US as a point of principle due to Donald Trump's presidency.
