Newly crowned IBO European champion Jack McGann has plans to return to his hometown of Liverpool this summer.
McGann put on an emphatic performance against Hungarian veteran, Laszlo Toth, in the York Hall, London earlier this month to win the first title of his professional boxing career.
Promotor Mark Neilson said: “This was his toughest opponent yet, with Toth having had over 30 wins with 19 coming by KO. Jack basically beat him up resulting in him retiring on his stool and not coming out for the 6th round.

“The British Super-Welterweights have now been given notice, this ex-MMA fighter, with no amateur experience is the real deal. We’d love to make a huge title fight in Liverpool later this year”.
‘The Pilgrim’ last fought in Liverpool back in April 2022, against Edvinas Puplauskas. He manged to end the fight via KO/TKO in the fifth round and cheers echoed through the Shankly Hotel.
McGann spent many years fighting all over the world in mixed martial arts and competed in Russia against some of the best fighters over there. This time away made for an anxious return to Merseyside, as Jack admitted: “Before I fought at the Shankly, I hadn’t fought in Liverpool for like 14 years, or something stupid like that.
“It got to the point where I was looking at it and thinking, when I go back to Liverpool, I don’t know how it will be. I was getting nervous about it, because it has been so long. But it turned out to be one of the most amazing nights in my fighting career, I loved it”.
With that experience under his belt, the Scouser is eager to make a return. He said: “I’d love to replicate another night like that and put on a show in front of a bigger crowd.
"I’ve got a good relationship with Neilson Boxing, and I think they want to put on a show in Liverpool in the summer. So, I think that’s what’s next for me”.
