Sixty-five days after beginning a medical at Leicester City with a view to leaving Leeds United, Jack Harrison has signed a new contract at Elland Road. The Whites have today confirmed a five-year deal for the winger, taking him to June 2028 and 31-years-old.
Talks on new terms had been ongoing between Harrison’s representatives and the club for several months, but efforts were renewed to secure his future after January’s transfer episode. On the last day of the transfer window, Leeds agreed to terms with Leicester on a switch for Harrison to King Power Stadium.
The transfer was far enough down the line for the former Manchester City man to travel to Leicestershire in order to get it over the line before 11pm. However, once United’s 49ers Enterprises contingent reconsidered at the 11th hour, the plug was pulled.

Director of football Victor Orta and the bard have been clear since that night they would tie Harrison down to the club and give him some stability. Those talks have gone well in the last two months and less than 48 hours after scoring Tuesday’s equaliser, the contract has been announced.
Harrison has already made more appearances for the Whites than anyone else in the dressing room bar three (Stuart Dallas, Liam Cooper and Luke Ayling). There have been 197 outings since his first 2018 loan move and 33 goals in that time.
