Patrick Bamford has been dealt another blow on his road to recovery after Marcelo Bielsa revealed that he has sustained a fresh foot injury in the build-up to this weekend's game against Newcastle United.
It was anticipated that the 28-year-old would be back for the trip to West Ham United last time out, but he didn't recover in time after picking up a hamstring injury in December.
However, Bamford is now definitely going to miss the clash with the Magpies at Elland Road and could be out for another period on the sideline in what has been a frustrating season for the forward so far.
Despite his injury struggles, Bamford has still been a positive influence on the training ground and Jack Harrison has revealed that he has been so supportive to him.
Harrison scored his first senior hat-trick to help the Whites to a 3-2 win against West Ham, becoming the first Leeds player to net a treble since Bamford in a 3-0 success at Aston Villa in October 2020.
Nevertheless, the former Manchester City winger has explained his relationship with Bamford and claimed that the duo spoke about the hat-tricks they've both scored.
He told the official Leeds United podcast: "He's a funny guy. He's confident and distills that throughout his training, he's a funny character who likes to joke around with everyone.
"He's supportive as well and he came to me and congratulated me after my hat-trick. We talked about when he scored his hat-trick as well, so he's a great teammate to have, a very confident boy.
"As a striker, I feel like you're going to get that anyway. He scores a lot of goals and has that to back it up."
Leeds will be looking to make it three successive victories when they face the Magpies at Elland Road on Saturday.
When asked about whether he will net another treble, Harrison replied: "I would love to get one! As I always say, I want to do the best for the team and if I get a hat-trick that would be amazing.
"I can't guarantee it unfortunately, but I'll be trying."
