Jack Gurr has terminated his contract with Aberdeen after just seven months at the club.
The full-back has decided to rip up the last five months of his contract having been one of Stephen Glass' first signings in June 2021.
But the 26-year-old is now set to sign for American side Sacramento Republic later this month.
Gurr has played most of his football at United Soccer League level with Atlanta United’s B team.
The Englishman had previously played under current Pittodrie boss Glass there.
Glass took him to the Granite City in the summer but he has struggled to make an impact after the Premier Sports Cup exit at Raith Rovers, a result that piled pressure on the Dons management team.
Gurr hasn’t played since the Celtic game in November and fell far behind highly rated Calvin Ramsay who has nailed down the right-back slot.
