Jack Grealish fires Premier League title warning to Arsenal after Man City win vs Liverpool

Manchester City star Jack Grealish has fired a warning to Arsenal following the 4-1 win against Liverpool at the Etihad Stadium. Pep Guardiola's side moved within five points of the Gunners with Grealish proving to be an influential player against the Reds.

Mikel Arteta's side are currently in action against Leeds United following City's win in the early kick-off on Saturday afternoon. The reigning champions still have a game in hand on the league leaders and will be hoping Arsenal drop points against Leeds today.

Bukayo Saka has been dropped from the starting line-up by Arteta after the England international was struggling with an illness prior to the match, while William Saliba also remains absent from the matchday squad. Thomas Partey passed a fitness test to start the game with Gabriel Jesus starting in attack.

City still have to welcome Arsenal to the Etihad Stadium later this month in what could prove to be a potential title-deciding fixture. Guardiola's side have chased down a team at the top of the table to go on and win the league before, as they surpassed Liverpool's points tally towards the end of the campaign a few seasons ago.

Grealish has now fired a warning to the Gunners as City picked up a crucial three points to put the pressure back on Arsenal ahead of their game against Leeds. The City star said: "Obviously you know they’re [Arsenal] a great team.

"It’s in their hands at the moment so we’re just gonna keep doing everything we can to try and chase them. We’ve just got to keep winning games."

City have a much busier fixture schedule compared to the Gunners due to their Champions League and FA Cup involvement, while Arteta's side only have the Premier League to focus on. Grealish added: "I need to love you and leave you, need to go and get changed and see how many days off we’ve got!"

It's clear Guardiola has got his players focused on winning as many trophies as possible this season, with a treble still achievable this term. Arteta will hope his side can respond and regain their eight-point lead at the top of the table with a win against Leeds.
