Jack Grealish explains what he said to Copenhagen goalkeeper after Erling Haaland goal

Jack Grealish has revealed that he shared a moment of disbelief with FC Copenhagen's goalkeeper after Erling Haaland had scored yet again for Manchester City.

Three days after sticking six goals past Manchester United City had developed a fresh hunger for goals, and of course Haaland was in the middle of the action. The 22-year-old grabbed a first-half brace as City eased into a 3-0 lead by half time, before Riyad Mahrez and Julian Alvarez scored in the second half to complete a 5-0 win.

Haaland has now scored 19 goals in his first 12 matches in all competitions for City, a staggering return quite unlike anything witnessed in the modern game. The jaws of City fans and pundits alike keep dropping to the ground each time Haaland finds the back of the net, and the striker is starting to have the same effect on his teammates.

Speaking to BT Sport after the match, Grealish - who put in another impressive display on the left wing as named the Player of the Match - admitted that what his teammate is doing is truly remarkable.

"It’s unbelievable, I have never witnessed anything like it in my life," Grealish said.

"For the first or second goal, I was just laughing because he is always there and is always finishing it. He is a pleasure to play with. When I was walking back after one of his goals their ‘keeper said something to me and I said what?

"He said, 'this guy is not human', and I said 'yeah, you’re telling me!' He is unbelievable and is a pleasure to be around, he is so humble and that isn’t just me bigging him up, that is the God’s honest truth and hopefully he can carry on this form and carry us to glory."

Grealish can count himself unlucky to not have got amongst the goals himself, the England attacker taking six shots in total, three of which were saved by in-form Copenhagen goalkeeper Kamil Grabara. Nevertheless, Grealish was happy with his performance and admitted that he is starting to feel good again about his form for Pep Guardiola's side.

"I am loving it at the moment. My last three or four games I have loved it and feel back to myself and playing with that freedom and confidence and it would probably help if I got on the scoresheet tonight, I was desperate in that second half but it is all about enjoying it and winning and we are doing that at the moment.

"Do you know what, when the luck just isn’t with you? I am going through one of those patches at the moment, but like I said, I am enjoying it at the moment and playing a lot of games recently and thankful to the manager for that. I am happy that I am playing football with a smile on my face and I am settling in well here and playing with confidence."
