PERTH, Australia – Jack Della Maddalena has some fun ideas.
The UFC welterweight prospect pitched a potential matchup against veteran and fellow striking standout Vicente Luque following his most recent win in the octagon. Maddalena (14-2 MMA, 4-0 UFC) rocked and then submitted opponent Randy Brown with a rear-naked choke in the first round of their fight at Saturday’s UFC 284 at RAC Arena.
It was an impressive win that kept Della Maddalena unbeaten in the UFC with all four wins by first-round finish. Maddalena thinks a fight with Luque would be an ideal next step.
“I think Vicente Luque doesn’t have a fight. I think that would be a banger,” Maddalena told reporters at his UFC 284 post-fight news conference.
Brown (16-4 MMA, 10-5 UFC) entered UFC 284 on a four-fight wining streak, which included decision wins over veterans Alex Oliveira and Francisco Trinaldo. Maddalena thinks Brown is his biggest win yet.
“It’s definitely the biggest win of my career,” Maddalena said. “It’s the toughest test of my career, and yeah – it feels great.”
