Jack Colback sent emotional message after Nottingham Forest decision confirmed

Nottingham Forest fans have heaped praise on departing midfielder Jack Colback following the announcement that he will leave the club at the end of the season.

The club confirmed on Saturday morning that the former Newcastle United man will bring an end his five year spell at the City Ground in the summer following the expiry of his contract. It means that the game against Arsenal will be the player’s last home match as a Forest player.

Colback, who is naturally a midfielder, stepped up to play wing-back for the team last season, has struggled for regular game time this season. He has been out of action since the start of April after suffering concussion in training.

He therefore could have played his final game in the Garibaldi red, unless he makes a comeback in the final two games of the season. Forest host Arsenal at 5:30pm this afternoon before travelling to Crystal Palace next Sunday.

Following the confirmation of the news, Forest fans took to social media to send a message to the departing player. Here’s what just some had to say.

Jake : Whichever clubs ends up with him will be very very lucky. Absolutely love the geezer. So happy he achieved something during his time here as well. Was there through thick and thin. #nffc

Connor : Will always be a hero for what he helped the club achieve, especially in a position that wasn’t natural to him. Hope hes leading the walk round later or given an announcement at halftime #nffc
