Jack Butland holds fresh Rangers transfer talks as Beale plea to the Ibrox board has goalkeeper 'preparing' for Ibrox

Jack Butland has held talks with Rangers as Michael Beale looks to make it signing number three for the upcoming season.

Term 22/23 has been bid good riddance by the Ibrox boss and he has already signed two new players as part of his rebuild. Kieran Dowell has beefed up the midfield while Dujon Sterling was unveiled on Tuesday night, as the right-back comes in to provide competition for James Tavernier. Now the Daily Mail claim that the ante has been upped in pursuit of Crystal Palace keeper Butland, who spent some time on loan as Manchester United's back-up.

The 30-year-old 'is preparing for a move to the Scottish giants as his time in English football comes to an end' according to the report and is 'eager to secure more minutes.' Initially, his salary demands 'rocked' a potential transfer but 'compromise has been reached on personal terms.'

He is now set to join Rangers as a free agent. It is also stated that Beale 'stressed the importance' of Butland's arrival due to his Premier League and Championship experience.
