The NBA is in a tremendous place.
Parity is ruling the league (just look at the standings), the on-court product is of quality and the young superstars are beginning to usher out the ones of yesteryear in a seamless way.
One of those new superstars is Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant, who is inching closer to becoming one of the faces of the league. He and his Grizzlies are making a ton of noise on the court but his latest soundbite off of the court is sure to ruffle some feathers.
In a sitdown with ESPN’s Malika Andrews, Morant said this when asked about opponents in the Western Conference that Memphis will need to worry about getting past:
“Nah. I’m fine in the West.”
When asked about the Grizzlies top competition in the NBA, Ja Morant doesn’t see any in the western conference 😳

Based on Morant’s response, there’s no one in the West to worry about. But you can see where he’s coming from.
The Grizzlies are 19-11 on the season, which is tied for the best record in the conference. And they’ve done all of this damage without their starting lineup having logged a single minute together this season due to injuries.
At BetMGM, Memphis has +500 odds to win the West and +1200 odds to win this season’s championship.
Surely, the contending teams in the conference will use this clip as motivation.
