Ja’Marr Chase has been making an undeniable argument for being the best wide receiver in the NFL. Despite an underwhelming season by the Bengals overall, he and Joe Burrow have maintained one of the deadliest connections in the league. With two games still left to play, the fourth-year pass catcher has already set his career high in receiving yards, and has made history in Cincinnati with his output.
Ja’Marr Chase Sets New Bengals Franchise Mark
His previous career high in a single year was 1,455 yards during his rookie season in 2021. He has eclipsed 1,000 yards in each campaign since, but is having a performance in 2024 that is topping them all.
Through the first 15 games of the season, Ja’Marr Chase has racked up 1,510 yards, the highest mark in the NFL. His league leading 16 touchdowns are a career high, and he’s also tops the list with his 108 receptions.

He still has time to add to his wildly impressive numbers, but he has already made his mark on his team’s record books. In eclipsing his own career high for yards, Chase becomes the first player in Bengals history to hit the 1,500 mark in a single season.
Even with the career year from Chase and the MVP-level play of quarterback Joe Burrow, the Bengals are all but eliminated from playoff contention with their 7-8 record. They would need a miracle to get in, but it appears that Cincinnati will miss the postseason for the second straight season.
A big offseason awaits. Ja’Marr Chase has been one of the league’s best bargains on his rookie contract, but will be trying to get a deal done before the start of the 2025 season. He has made an obvious case for becoming the highest paid wideout in the NFL, and will be putting the pressure on the Bengals for a new contract as soon as the current campaign concludes.
