Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase doesn’t sound too worried about the injury suffered by quarterback Joe Burrow during the second practice of training camp.
The Cincinnati Enquirer’s Charlie Goldsmith caught up with Chase after practice, with the star receiver saying that Burrow “gave me the nod. I wasn’t really worried. I believe he’s alright.”
Precautionary or not in the sweltering heat, Burrow suffered a non-contact calf issue and was carted off the field. Bengals head coach Zac Taylor met with the media and initially described the setback as a calf issue, though he wouldn’t (and couldn’t) elaborate more.
Based on the general vibe from the locker room after the fact, highlighted by Chase’s comments, there’s reason for cautious optimism around Burrow’s latest summer setback.
