J.J. Watt Congratulates Brother T.J. for Passing Him in Sacks Stat With Emotional Post

Steelers linebacker T.J. Watt passed his older brother, newly retired J.J. Watt, in one NFL record during Week 10’s game vs. the Packers.

The younger Watt clocked his 88th sack in his first 100 career games, moving ahead of the older Watt’s 87.5 sacks tallied in his first 100 contests while playing on the Texans earlier in his career.

The Steelers star only trails Reggie White, who holds the 100-game record with 105 sacks. When the elder Watt congratulated his younger brother on his accomplishment on Sunday, he couldn’t help but add the surreal fact that their names are on the same list as White, a former Eagles and Packers star.

“We grew up in Wisconsin, idolizing Reggie White. If you told us that someday a stat like this would exist, we wouldn’t believe you,” Watt wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter. “Pretty damn cool.”

Watt played his 96th career game on Sunday in Pittsburgh’s 23–19 win, meaning he has four more chances to add to his total sack count compiled in his first 100 games.
