Brentford are ready to hand star striker Ivan Toney a new deal to reflect his status at the club.
The 26-year-old’s current contract runs until 2025 but he has not signed improved terms since he joined the Bees from Peterborough in the summer of 2020.
Since then, he has established himself as one of the best strikers in the Premier League and last month he was handed a first call-up to Gareth Southgate’s England squad. That has led to several clubs, including Manchester United, keeping tabs on Toney’s progress.
And Brentford bigwigs want to reward his development with enhanced terms — believed to be just north of six figures a week — that will keep him happy in west London.

A raise would also see Toney’s contract extended, protecting the asset for Brentford, although the new deal would likely include a hefty but not prohibitive release clause. Toney has established himself as the main man in Thomas Frank’s squad and is vital to the style they play.
He has scored five goals in eight Premier League appearances this season, including a hat-trick against Leeds, after netting 12 in 33 in the top flight last time out.
His form led to a call-up by Southgate for the Nations League fixtures against Italy and Germany last month but he didn’t get on in either game. However, Toney is still under consideration for a spot in the World Cup squad next month.
