Fans weren't too pleased with a Scottish answer that was deemed wrong because of pronunciation, with some accusing Bradley Walsh of being tight.
Yesterday's show featured Jan, Phil, Ellie and Roddy taking on chaser 'The Governess' Anne Hegerty. Some reckon that the team should have gone into the showdown with more money than they did.
This is because of Ellie's cash-builder. The student was up third and bagged a fair £3,000, but viewers reckon it should have been £4,000.
One of the questions about a Scottish product was deemed wrong because of how Ellie pronounced her answer, but Scots have pointed out that the answer itself was correct.
The question from Bradley was 'which Scottish whisky has the slogan "Famous for a reason"?' Many Scots will know that this belongs to Famous Grouse.
Ellie, who happened to be dressed in tartan, said: "Famous groose". However, Bradley couldn't give her the point based on her pronunciation of the drink. Later, Ellie joked she had been doing the accent as her outfit had inspired her.
Some took to Twitter to defend the student from Brighton, with one saying: "Gotta deserve the point there surely", while another added: "Give her the point for famous groose! Loads of Scots up here say it".
"Famous Groose, aye nae bother hen," said a third whilst a fourth tweeted: "Famous Grouse not allowed cos she pronounced it differently?".
A fifth said: "She got that right! Should get a bonus point for the accent".
The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV and the ITV Hub
