ITV2 Love Island finale saw the biggest number of viewers in three years

Millions of viewers tuned into watch the final episode of Love Island on Monday (August 1), recording the biggest audience in years. ITV have said a total of 3.4 million viewers watched Davide and Ekin-Su be crowned the winners of the hit programme.

The 2022 finale has been the biggest since 2019 which saw Amber Gill and Greg O'Shea take home the prize. Viewers were also up 100,000 compared to last years final in which Millie Court and Liam Reardon won the show.

Hull Live reports that this year's series broke streaming records as it received over 250 million streams. Love Island has now become the most watched series ever on the ITV Hub.
