Viewers of ITV's new drama The Thief, His Wife and the Canoe couldn't quite believe it, as two familiar faces popped up in the show.
As the drama based on real events concluded on Wednesday, John and Anne Darwin were interrogated by police about their dishonest plot - that saw John fake his death in 2002.
In the scenes, detectives tried to work out what exactly the couple had planned, and whether Anne had known about the plot the entire time.
