Vera fans love to solve a mystery as much as they love watching the woman herself do it.
Whilst usually the army of passionate armchair detectives are identifying filming locations across the region, this time they've got their sights set on the wardrobe department.
And for a change, it isn’t DCI Stanhope’s wardrobe they’re after, but Aidan’s. DS Healey, the second sidekick to accompany Vera on her mystery-solving missions, is always clad in a dark biker jacket.
After Vera made a reference to Aidan’s penchant for expensive jackets in the latest episode of the ITV drama, fans have been on the hunt for a replica.

“Does anyone know the make of Aidan’s jacket?” Asked one keen fan on a Vera Facebook group. “Looking for one for my husband’s birthday and it would make a great present.”
Many would put money on Aidan having a similar soft spot as his boss for Barbour, as her original waxed green hat is believed to be from the outdoor brand. However, the real detectives online have already identified that DS Healey’s jacket brand of choice is a Belstaff.
The luxury British brand is known for its luxury sports and outerwear. It has been the brand of choice for A-list stars including Ewan McGregor, David Beckham, Kate Moss, Angelina Jolie and now Kenny Doughty.
Its so-called Gangster Jacket, a hand-waxed leather jacket with plaid lining, looks eerily similar to that worn by Doughty in the latest Vera episode. However, those keen on replicating the look should get their wallets at the ready as it retails for £1,295 - though it is currently on sale at 30% off for £906.
With an array of different jackets, Aidan’s wardrobe is certainly one to covet. When Vera remarked that Aidan spends so much on his jacket collection during Sunday's episode, she really wasn’t lying.
